A fresh hot designer to keep your eye on has just completed a masterful project in Chelsea. Behold Drew McGukin Interiors, a unique and artistic company that is bold, balanced, vibrant and most importantly… liveable!
This Chelsea Highrise is delicious treat for the eye. It marries so many wonderful concepts effortlessly with its sensational use of color, Mid-Century forms and innate understanding of nature. Drew is not just a wonderful designer but a wonderful person too! His magnetic personality and elevated design aesthetic make him the perfect candidate for your next interior design masterpiece.
Drew and his team have been considerate to many aspects of this space. The lighting and the way it contrasts and connects to the color, fabrics and textures. His use of scale is well thought out, giving you a place to be cozy with clean lines. It’s a difficult feat to master when you want comfort without the natural visual weight of furniture. He has combatted that feat with ninja strength and does so by lifting your eye on different planes: the yellow Elitis wallpaper, the custom flower pillows, the asymmetrical dining pendant. The living area appears lifted and weightless amidst the chunky Mid-Century loungers with the clever light toned area rug atop the rich dark floors. The bedroom and office are extremely balanced and serene with appropriate pops of color that do not detract from the overall. What I love is the clever infusion of the color palette from one room to the next that achieves different moods. You have a stark yellow, warm grey and blue in the living area which tones down and becomes a refined contrast of the same palette in the office and then completely blends in with the softness of nature in the bedroom. The colors tell a story of the way we live and marry the entire interior as a whole.
